[Recap] Variety Show: We Are In Love 我们相爱吧 Ep 3: Siwon & Liu Wen cut

We are in Love cover

It’s been months since We Are In Love finished airing. In fact, just a couple of days ago, Marian posted about how Season 2 is going to premiere on Valentine’s Day! And this means… this uncompleted post has been sitting in my drafts for 8 months — No exaggeration! Since it seems like I will never finish recapping the entire episode (yes, I’m still ‘busy’ trying to do up that Legend of Miyue recap but I’m currently hooked to Go Princess Go, a wacky and fun web drama), I decided to release the Liu Wen and Siwon portion that I had already done up instead of letting it continue to rot in my drafts. Enjoy some sweet lovey-dovey oppa time!

Yes, you read that right! It didn’t seem so long ago that the Chinese version of Korea’s famous reality show “We Got Married” premiered in Jiangsu TV. This show launched so many shipper dreams all thanks to the pairings of Ruby Lin-Ren Zhong, Kimi Qiao-Xu Lu, and Choi Siwon-Liu Wen. To relive those moments, you may check out my partner’s previous recaps 😉 Good news to all fangirls out there as another season will keep us entertained with a perfect premiere date on (Western) Valentine’s Day! But before that, we must ask one very important question: WHO ARE THE OTPs?!!

[NEWS]: Upcoming 2016 Films & Dramas

2016 is looking good for the Chinese entertainment industry! It seems like the drama and movie gods have been reading my Christmas Wishlist from last year… HAHA! You may read more on the upcoming dramas in blogs such as AVirtualVoyage and CDramaDevotee. For this post, I’ll be mainly posting about the projects that I’m really excited about and some may have not been covered by other blogs so might as well spread the love!

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 2)

I’m back to give you the 2nd part (and last!) 2015 Drama Round-Up! If you missed part 1 then I suggest you read it here for other drama reviews 😀

Still the same disclaimer:  These are brief (not really brief for some lol) reviews of all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested.

I have divided it into parts just like the last time: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

Are we ready? 😀

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 1)

I’ve been looking forward to writing this ever since I got the idea in my head. In this post, I’ll be writing brief reviews about all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested. This is part 1 out of 2 2015 Drama Round-ups that I’ll be writing.

My year in dramas is pretty colorful which I need to highlight: 1.) I watched a lot of C-dramas more than I intended to 2.) It was my first time to watch a drama while it’s currently airing 3.) I went beyond my habit of watching C/TW dramas by watching J-dramas (yay!) 4.) It also concerns going beyond my habit: watched a period/wuxia drama for the first time! 5.) I was able to watch some dramas which have been collecting dust in my never-ending plan-to-watch list already haha! and most importantly, 6.) I started blogging about dramas!

I’ll be dividing it into parts: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

So are we ready? 😀

Kang Xi Lai Le 1

The host of Kang Xi Lai Le, Kevin Tsai (Cai Kang Yong), announced on 16 October via weibo that he will be leaving Kang Xi Lai Le for a change. Later that day, co-host Dee Hsu (Xu Xi Di), who is more commonly known as Xiao S, also announced that she will be leaving the show as the departure of Kevin Tsai will make it pointless for her to continue on without him.

Drama Rankings 6/12/15 – 12/12/15

Someone recently told me that Legend of Mi Yue seems to not be garnering a lot of attention on English sites and wondered about the response on Chinese platforms. Well, the answer is here! Seems like the entire country is paying attention to Legend of Mi Yue even though review varies. (There seems to be some criticism about how it doesn’t compare up to Legend of Zhen Huan). Still, it’s undeniable that Legend of Mi Yue is topping a lot of the categories by a large margin 🙂

[Review] Movie: Go Lala Go 2 杜拉拉升职记

Resized-GoLalaGo2LaunchPoster

Title: Go Lala Go 2
Native Title: 杜拉拉升职记
Country of Origin: China
Year Shown: 2015
Duration: ~104 minutes
My rating: 7.5/10

Cast:
Vic Zhou as Wang Wei/David
Ariel Lin as Du Lala
Bolin Chen as Stanley Chen
Nana as Sha Dangdang
Michelle Chen in a guest role as Carrie

This is one of my most anticipated films (see previous blog post for reference) of the year because of its powerhouse casting. I mean, how can anyone miss out on watching a film featuring three of Taiwan’s greatest actors?! Despite my utmost excitement over this film, I didn’t really set my expectations high but I still ended up being disappointed. Read more for my detailed review!

[NEWS] Van Ness Wu returns to dramaland, enters C-dramaland

20151203024349426

The drama gods have been very generous lately! Ever since Chinese period drama “The Princess Wei Young” (adapted from a novel with the same title) was in the news for finding its main leads in Tiffany Tang and Luo Jin, nothing much followed right after. It didn’t really catch my attention until they added another big name to the list of its cast members… Continue reading
