Hello everyone. Can’t believe we are nearing the end of The Voice of China Season 4. I never planned and never thought I would recap this series all the way to the end! I’ve never been a musically inclined person so recapping a singing competition as my first ever full series recap had never occurred to me. I’m really heartened to see so many people reading my recaps and recently, commenting and discussing! Today, I’m gonna share my predictions about who will win this competition!

[Disclaimer: This, along with all my other Voice of China posts, are all my thoughts and opinons which might not be what the general population thinks. These posts might be influenced by my preferences and I’m not a pro at this so take everything with a pinch of salt!]

Chinese Novel: 你是男的 我也爱 I Love You Even If You Are A Man Review

I love you even if you are a man 你是男的我也爱
I Love You Even If You Are A Man 你是男的,我也爱 by Angelina
Chinese online novel here and English translation is in progress here. (Check out more links for english translation at the bottom of the post)

This is the original novel for the movie trilogy, I Love You If You Were Man. This story revolves around Mai Ding, a cute and goofy boy-next-door and An Ziyan, the cool and aloof heartthrob whom everyone can’t help love yet fear. It all began with a misunderstanding – Mai Ding was bribed by his college roommate to find out An Ziyan’s sexual orientation and An Ziyan had played a prank on Mai Ding in a rare moment of amusement, leading Mai Ding to believe he is bisexual even though he is straight. Mai Ding had little friends since young and wanted to ‘make his life more interesting’ by knowing people of ‘diverse background’ (i.e. An Ziyan) so he would have a cool story to tell his grandchildren in the future. And hence, a friendship which turned into more started to form between the two most unlikely characters.

[Warning: This book is about a gay relationship and there might be explicit scenes in it so read only if you are comfortable.]

[NEWS] The Voice of China Season 4: Wang Feng Clash with Media 中国好声音 第四季

main 1

Hello my dears, in my Voice of China Ep 11 recap, I mentioned that there was a ‘media clash’ between Wang Feng and the media. I had wanted to blog about it when I first read about it but decided not to reveal spoilers. Now that the episode is aired, here’s more about it. Last week, Wang Feng suffered 3 consecutive defeats when his team went against Harlem’s team and made a controversial speech because he was very upset with the judges (made up of the media and people from the music industry). Wang Feng had blamed the media for being unfair towards his students because of prejudice against him.

This week, the sister-brother alliance are against each other. Will Na Ying’s team (小二班) or Jay’s team (地表最强战队 – Jay’s team changed name again? It’s now Strongest Team on Earth) emerge victorious? I foresee a lot of crying, especially from Na Ying’s team. (Edit: I was wrong)

Chen Xue Dong
Hello everyone! I’m here with a new column – Screencaps Surprise! Basically, this column will feature cute screencaps and gifs from dramas/movies/variety shows I have been watching in a bid to entice you to watch them as well, or at least be amused. To be really honest, this is here for all the too-funny-it’s-impossible gifs that the official variety show accounts have been posting on Weibo, so you can almost always expect a laugh or two when reading this.

Real Hero Team
Applause! // LOL at Joe Cheng‘s (rightmost) slow reaction.

Today’s theme will be one of the mainland China variety shows I have been watching recently – Real Hero 真心英雄! Continue reading
