Go Fighting! has just recently concluded the first season with 11 episodes, 1 episode lesser than the initial stated amount. But no worries, for ultra fans like me, there will be a movie next January!  Honestly, I don’t expect much from the movie – I doubt it will be as good as the variety show itself but I’ll be looking forward to seeing the 6 brothers together again! For now, let’s look at some cute and funny screencaps/gifs!

First up, an introduction of the cast and their character development throughout the show.

Sun Honglei a.k.a. ‘Handsome King Sun’
He’s one funny dude. Being the oldest of the team, I was initially afraid he would pull off the ‘Show some respect to your senior’ card but far from that, he just acted ridiculous and was like a big baby. He has a running gag throughout the show where he ‘achieves successes because of his handsome face and brains’ (which cannot be any further from the truth haha). He is leader of the ‘Ultimate 3 Sillys’ known for his brawn (and violence streak) and has been ‘robbing stuff’ from the public throughout the show, making the production team clean up after him haha. He also has a really cute bromance going on with Lay Zhang Yixing.

Huang Bo a.k.a. ‘National Bad Uncle’
He was assigned the role of ‘Bad dude’ since day 1 but I thought this role fell flat. Huang Bo had his entertaining moments too but I had expected more from him. He’s very well liked by the audience though, and isn’t afraid to ask the public for help to win – I approve! He’s part of the ‘Ultimate Three Smarts’

Huang Lei a.k.a. Master with miraculous foresight
Even though my favourite Show Luo Zhixiang is also on this show, I can’t help but to say…. Huang Lei is my ultimate favourite character on this show! He’s just so smart, it’s amazing. Since episode 1, it’s established he’s the one with the most brains on this show and throughout the show, he doesn’t stop impressing with his survival skills and analytical deductions. Unsurprisingly, he’s the leader of the ‘3 Ultimate Smarts’. Bonus points for him because he refused to eat abalone on the show in one of the episodes because he knew his daughter would be angry at him ‘taking lives’ of little animals.

Wang Xun a.k.a. Squirrel Xun
Most known for his jarring tooth and frequently compared to Chip and Dale， Wang Xun provides a lot of comical relief. He is characterised as being penny pinching and it’s hilarious to watch him get his cheap thrills over saving every single cent while on the show. He’s so practical and realistic, it’s a joy to watch. He’s 2nd Silly from the ‘Ultimate 3 Sillys’. And even though he’s so silly, he has endless good luck and always end up winning by chance. Impressive.

Show Luo Zhixiang (Xiao Zhu) a.k.a. King of Pigeon (Pigeon has the same pronounciation as Songs in mandarin and this is a pun.)
He didn’t shine as much as I wish he would in this show but I know I can always count on him for a laugh. ‘Idol burden’ which is used to describe how some idols are so stressed on wanting to keep a perfect image and refuse to do stupid stuff, cannot be found on him at all. He’s overdramatic, funny and sprouts out the most ridiculous words as well as do the most unexpected actions at times and it’s fun time all day every day with him around. He’s also part of the ‘Ultimate 3 Smarts’.

Lay Zhang Yixing a.k.a. Little sheep
He started off being the most innocent, trusting and naive little brother on the show. He was often fooled by members, especially Sun Honglei, whom he later developed a strong bromance with. He has one of the biggest transformation throughout the show, turning from ‘Little (innocent) sheep’ to ‘Old (experienced) sheep/wolf’. He’s very morally upright and it’s a nice addition to the team because this quality of him elicit different responses from the rest of the team members. He’s Little Silly from the ‘Ultimate 3 Sillys’

Luo Zhixiang (Show) and his own-directed nonsense. He’s so entertaining and cute and… a pretty good actor, I must add. I almost thought there was somebody ‘attacking’ him!

We also have Luo Zhixiang (Show) mimicking Zhang Yixing (Lay) – they actually look alike!

And then… Zhang Yixing (Lay) started mimicking Luo Zhixiang too!

Huang Lei and Wang Xun have their own version too!

Xiao Zhu (Show Luo) approves! 

Whereas, Huang Lei is just doubtful about his teammates’ intelligence.

They might lack some intelligence but Xiao Zhu and Zhang Yixing‘s dance moves definitely made up for it.

Huang Bo‘s ‘Endless Kicks’ is also impressive.

But not as impressive as Xiao Zhu‘s sneak (kiss) attack which scared both Zhang Yixing (Lay) and Wang Xun!

In times like this, our ‘little sheep’ Zhang Yixing has no choice but to show his real powers.

While the rest, like Xiao Zhu and Huang Bo, just concentrate on their pigeons-training skills.

But pigeon-training is not as easy as it seems, you need pants with sexy slits (torn by Xiao Zhu himself because ‘it was easier to move around like that’).

Sun Honglei doesn’t believe in sexy pants though, he believes his face is enough to seduce Huang Bo whom obviously disagrees.

But Sun Honglei is not one to be belittled, this bunch of ‘soldiers’ were initially assigned to capture him but he managed to brainwash them into working for him without suspecting anything. Haha! Not as silly as he seems, I guess.

And those who doubt him? Punishment!!!

Hmph! Our resident smart, Huang Lei, doesn’t believe in violence. He uses his brains to solve problems.

Sun Hong Lei: What did you say? Come over. I promise not to bite you.

Wang Xun: Oh, our big silly’s mental condition is pretty serious.

Huang Bo: What’s going on here? My panda eyes are from marathoning the entire season of Go Fighting! in one night.
