[Recap] Never-Before-Seen Scenes in “Our Times”

I remember earlier this month/year that particularly one cut scene in “Our Times” became a hot topic on Weibo thanks to Joe Chen for reposting it hihi. It was none other than her cut scene with Jerry Yan. It was posted almost everywhere but I insisted on waiting for my DVD just so I wouldn’t feel like I spent a lot of money just to see it haha!

As promised in my previous Our Times-related post, I took up the courage to understand what’s been happening in the cut scenes without subtitles. I categorized it as a recap because I’ll be dissecting all the almost 12 minutes of (11:42 to be exact!) cut scenes from the film. This time, I have a better quality of screencaps thanks to my beloved DVD ❤

[NEWS] Ruby Lin’s Star-Studded 40th Birthday Bash

I have found the luckiest girl in the world. And nope it’s not who you think, but it’s none other than this certain Weibo blogger who was able to attend top Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin’s 40th birthday celebration. Why and how lucky? All of my photos in this post came from her (so all the credits to her!). Before we start with this fangirling galore, let’s greet Ruby Lin and pause for awhile to think how could she look so youthful at 40?!

Unboxing the “Our Times” Deluxe Edition DVD

I may have mentioned in my previous posts regarding “Our Times” aka my all-time favorite Taiwanese film that I pre-ordered the DVD last year. My long wait’s over as I have finally received my precious DVD today! I knew what I was going to receive but I was just beyond happy to receive the package. I’m not really sure how people create an “unboxing” blog post but I’ll give it a shot here 😉

Movie Monday: Lights, Camera, ACTION! (Part 1)

Sorry it took me forever before posting another Movie Monday! It’s all piling up now as I’ve been watching a lot of movies recently. As the title states, I’ll be reviewing 5 movies which fall under the Action genre. It’s also part 1 out of an uncertain number because only time can tell how many action films I’d be watching throughout the years haha!

Trust me, I’m no action fan because I’m all for romance, comedy, melodrama, etc. and basically not action at all but I managed to enjoy these titles. After all, what is life without any action? 😉

Yes, you read that right! It didn’t seem so long ago that the Chinese version of Korea’s famous reality show “We Got Married” premiered in Jiangsu TV. This show launched so many shipper dreams all thanks to the pairings of Ruby Lin-Ren Zhong, Kimi Qiao-Xu Lu, and Choi Siwon-Liu Wen. To relive those moments, you may check out my partner’s previous recaps 😉 Good news to all fangirls out there as another season will keep us entertained with a perfect premiere date on (Western) Valentine’s Day! But before that, we must ask one very important question: WHO ARE THE OTPs?!!

Comparing Taiwan’s Most Successful Films: “You are the Apple of My Eye” vs. “Our Times”

Hello 2016! Hello readers! I’m here today to give you a comparative analysis on Taiwan’s all-time smash-hit films from 2011 and last year. Having rewatched both films recently, I decided to write a post about these successful films in detail and also my theories on why they turned out to be everyone’s favorites.

As much as I love having a lot of readers, I do recommend that you read this only when you have seen both films. If not, then I hope this post will make you want to watch them (or at least one) and enjoy as much as I did.

[NEWS]: Are Jerry Yan and Ruby Lin dating? [UPDATED]

Capture5

Funny how people asked me to update them last month about Jerry’s new girl, rising TW-actress Seanna Chang but I couldn’t due to my busy schedule. Now that I’m not busy anymore, it seems there’s already a new love interest to report about *gasps*.

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 2)

I’m back to give you the 2nd part (and last!) 2015 Drama Round-Up! If you missed part 1 then I suggest you read it here for other drama reviews 😀

Still the same disclaimer:  These are brief (not really brief for some lol) reviews of all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested.

I have divided it into parts just like the last time: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

Are we ready? 😀

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 1)

I’ve been looking forward to writing this ever since I got the idea in my head. In this post, I’ll be writing brief reviews about all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested. This is part 1 out of 2 2015 Drama Round-ups that I’ll be writing.

My year in dramas is pretty colorful which I need to highlight: 1.) I watched a lot of C-dramas more than I intended to 2.) It was my first time to watch a drama while it’s currently airing 3.) I went beyond my habit of watching C/TW dramas by watching J-dramas (yay!) 4.) It also concerns going beyond my habit: watched a period/wuxia drama for the first time! 5.) I was able to watch some dramas which have been collecting dust in my never-ending plan-to-watch list already haha! and most importantly, 6.) I started blogging about dramas!

I’ll be dividing it into parts: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

So are we ready? 😀

Movie Monday: A Whole Lot of Firsts

I was supposed to create a year-end post of all the Asian movies that I watched this year but I realized that it might actually be already 2016 and I still won’t be able to finish this post haha! (I have watched 46 this year alone and counting).

Most people are into Asian dramas more than their films but there are times that I prefer the latter because it does not take so much time compared to the former. It would also be a waste if I just keep watching them and not write reviews about it. Thus, the birth of this segment!

In this first #MovieMonday, I’ll be reviewing five movies (3 Taiwanese and 2 Chinese) which deals with the theme: “Firsts”.  Go read more to find out!
