The Whirlwind Girl is my newest crack drama. I started watching two days ago and now I’m already halfway through Season 2. The Whirlwind Girl is so pleasing on the eyes! The content is pretty decent too, at least for an idol drama like that.

Hello Good Morning, Hard City! Here I am writing about a Taiwanese drama that deserves to be written about. This is a drama that I should have watched back when it was airing except that I was not an avid drama fan when it aired.Even so, I’m very glad that I got to watch this precious gem. It is surprising that I would be watching this, because I wasn’t a crazy fan of the original Chinese drama, Bu Bu Jing Xin / Scarlet Heart, it was based on. In fact, despite my love for palace dramas, I was never really interested in that drama. I knew people were crazy over it, I kept up with the storyline but it was just too angsty for my liking. I know I’ll enjoy it if I do watch, but the amount of tears I’ll most likely drop while watching the drama has successfully deterred me from watching the actual drama. I contented myself with just reading recaps (and even that made me drop a tear or two… good job recappers!)
So, why would I watch this drama? Good question, I don’t know either. It just happened. And thus far, I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Here are a couple of thoughts I have from watching this drama (synopsis).

4 words: Next crack variety show. (Just look at all the gifs in this post, I promise you will be sold too!) Season 2 of Challenger Alliance is a refreshing change. With half the cast changed, we have Chen Xuedong, Xie Yilin (Hold-zhu Sister) as well as Xue Zhiqian joining Fan Bingbing and Li Chen while Chen Handian takes a smaller role and retreats to the sideline; Season 2 seems to be promising.
New drama featuring Chen Xue Dong as the main lead? Well, regardless of storyline, I’m definitely watching this drama. Alongside him, Ouyang Nana who was on the reality show, Up Idol, will star as the female lead. While I’m a bit doubtful of Ouyang Nana’s age and acting, I know I’ll sit through anything for Chen Xuedong!
