About dramarian

Ni hao! I'm Dramarian and I love Asian dramas & films specifically from Taiwan, China, and Japan. I write about them in this beautiful blog while my dog Gotchi sits beside me. Meteor Garden introduced me to dramaland and I don't think I'm leaving anytime soon. Oh and I love Jerry Yan very much. Follow/tweet me @SMilkdrama about anything and I will definitely reply.

Meteor Garden 2018 Episode 5 Review

Get yourself a guy who looks at you like how Ah Si looks at Shancai *swoons*

What an eventful episode! This episode just reminded me of how much I loved the original version. They did not fail in remaking some of my favorite story lines. Hoping that the growth of my love for this drama does not stop as it increases every episode.

Your happiness is also my happiness, Shancai!

This was a fun yet controversial episode! The love lines are getting stronger, maybe too strong that it has caused someone to hit a wall… Let’s go on, shall we?

Meteor Garden 2018 Episode 3 Review

Welcome to the Gen Z’s version of Meteor Garden! In the advent of social media, nothing is left unknown now.

My reviews from the first two episodes came from the TV version and it has led me to some confusion when I continued watching using the DVD version. The episode 2 that I watched ended with a transformed Shancai while our main boys were enchanted by her. For this episode, I will continue where we left off from episode 2 since they all happened in the second half of episode 3 anyway. If you are just as confused as I am, don’t be! Just fast-forward episode 3 to 22:45 to be exact and/or just follow this recap because I think I have solved this confusion crisis by myself haha! Let’s go!

Her fever would even become higher if you touch her, Ah Si!

If you think that the first episode was not all good, then you should give this remake another chance and watch this episode. Episode 2 had me smiling and squealing because all my favorite scenes/story lines from the original version were combined here. You will surely see which ones I smiled and squealed for when you read below!

My favorite poster of this drama!

The most precious drama from our childhood has found its way back to the screen after 17 years with fresh faces gracing our screens in familiar story lines. As a self-proclaimed Meteor Garden/Hana Yori Dango expert (more like addict…), this will be a fun watching experience. I will also be comparing some aspects of the drama with the 2001 version. Hope you can join me in releasing my feels and thoughts regarding one of the most anticipated dramas of 2018!

jk-newf4presscon2-101117_0

After 17 years since the original drama aired, “Meteor Garden” is returning to our screens with these young and fresh faces.

As another good year closes, another good one (*crossing our fingers*) is coming very soon! 2017 was a really good year of dramas for me as supported by my year-end round-up. One thing to be happy about is that 2018 is already looking so good with the line-up of dramas that is getting ready to hit our screens. Join my excitement as I write about the dramas that I’m happily anticipating for this new year!

Year-End Special: 2017 Drama Round-Up

collage-2017-12-25.jpg

Merry Christmas, dearest readers! It’s that time of the year again when I look back into the dramas that I’ve watched in a year. Comparing it to my 2016 record of 12 dramas and 6 specials, I only managed to finish 10 dramas this year and most of them were even started last year. What a great decline and the trend observed was that as I grew older, the less dramas I get to watch when I thought it would be the opposite *sighs*.

On a brighter side, I ended up loving more than half of the dramas that I watched out of 10 so quality over quantity was probably the main theme of this year’s drama round-up. I’ll stop talking now and hope you can join me in going through this wonderful drama year!

[C-Drama Review]: What Makes A Love So Beautiful? (2017)

a-love-so-beautiful-zhi-wo-men-dan-chun-de-xiao-mei-haoto-our-pure-little-beauty.jpg

After having my life completely ruined by “Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms“, I thought that I would never be able to rise from the dead or probably just stay as an immortal forever. I was wrong because an innocent and nostalgia-themed drama picked me up but only to leave me become a soul because this drama killed me a lot of times.

Hundreds of dramas dealing with these kinds of themes have already been made, some stood out while some were just forgettable. Given that this drama’s premise isn’t unique anymore, then what made people love it so much? Read more to find out why this drama is closing out my 2017 on a beautiful note!

[Review] C-drama: Eternally Loving “Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms” (2017)

Lead actor Mark Chao got criticized for getting this role because “he wasn’t handsome enough” UGH whatever, people.

EPIC, AMAZING, FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT, BEAUTIFUL, ADDICTING, and all the other positive adjectives you could think of.

Yes, I’m officially part of the millions of people who got drunk with peach blossom wine. If you have been following us on Twitter, you could have easily seen how rapid the system of “Eternal Love” was eating me up. It is now one of the dramas that I consider very close to my heart since it has saved me from a drama slump (suffered for 3 months or more lol). If you want to know more of my thoughts regarding China’s biggest hit drama of the year, then go on and read some more.
