[NEWS]: C-Drama “Because of Love” Premieres on February 28

I love how I was supposed to create a post talking about my dramas collecting dust in the Chinese production shelves then this just happened.

Look how beautiful Jerry’s nose is… HAHA!

I remember telling you last time, my beloved readers, that I will only be recapping a drama again if ever my dearest Jerry Yan comes out with another one. Lo and behold, I didn’t expect for it to come out this soon!

It was already 2 years ago when my co-Jerry obsessed friend and I watched a 12-minute trailer of his newest drama without English subtitles. Yup, define obsessed. Go watch it below if you’re just as obsessed or simply for just finding something that might pique your interest 😉

There are not much sources regarding the plot of the drama but this is what I know so far: Jerry Yan plays an ad director who lost his vision due to an accident. His original lady love is played by Alice Tzeng (they’re paired up again! *squeals*) but he would have a change of heart when he meets our female lead played by Hai Lu.

Nothing new here *sighs* especially the part that Alice Tzeng will play the second female lead again ugh unfair 😦 She was already Jerry’s 2nd female lead in the 2009 Taiwanese drama, “Starlit” and history is repeating itself. She could at least have gotten an upgrade?! HAHA. I’m just this disappointed because she’s very underrated and it was rare for me to root for the 2nd female lead at all until I watched that drama.

Enough with me talking and ranting lol. Here are some of the few photos that I have found so far (Circa 2013):

This was technically Jerry’s 2nd Chinese drama except that “Loving, Never Forgetting” was released earlier followed by “My Best Ex-Boyfriend”. He cut his hair after filming this in order to do LNF (just a trivia 😉

My loves together again: Jerry Yan and Alice Tzeng

Knowing that they already had promotional events before and that this was shelved for years,  I’m quite positive that there won’t be any other events anymore since it’s already premiering in less than a week 😦 Also, Jerry might not do a project for this year knowing that this will be premiering. Yup, he only prefers being exposed 1-2 times a year and sometimes not even one… DOESN’T IT SUCK TO BE HIS FAN?! T_T HAHA I’m just basing this on the fact that “Loving, Never Forgetting” was shown in 2014 after its filming time in 2013 and so Jerry did not really do anything related to the entertainment industry during that time.

To end this post, let us all wish that Viki will pick this up so that it can have English subtitles yay! It will air starting on February 28 on Hubei TV at 8:20PM. I’ll see if I can livestream and write a post about it just like the good ol’ “My Best Ex-Boyfriend”days 😀

So what do you think of this shelved/semi-new drama of Jerry? Yay or Nay? Hope I can see your comments below 😉

I can see we are fellow fensi of Zhang Han but don’t share the same taste in Jerry Yan – handsome meh? But then again, I didn’t like him in Loving, never forgetting but still ended up marathoning and completing the drama. So there he must have redeeming points.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, I’ve seen a lot of people online who don’t share the same appreciation as I am 😉

Funny how I also know people who don’t see the appeal of Zhang Han so it’s just really different strokes for different folks haha!

LNF had its weak and strong points. Loved his acting there but I just hated all the second leads and the dubbing boohoo 😦 thank you for sharing your opinion, dear!

Wow! mi querida Dramarian! A love story of your and mine – beloved Jerry Yan! What a surprise! Please don’t tell me that you cannot sleep dreaming of this TV series! I am quite excited, too. Although, we are wondering when we will see this series – with its English sub-titles.

How we wish, we know more of the celebrities in this said series. It is only Jerry Yan that we are familiar here; sigh . . .

Anyway, we will just look forward for your entries here; as the story line goes on . . Muchas gracias, dear Dramarian!

I’ve been waiting for this since 2014 and it kept having tentative air dates. I think it’s going to be for real now this time! What is good about this is that Jerry remains to be famous and so there would be a high demand for English subtitles. His drama last year got subtitles really fast and I hope the same way would happen for this drama.

His female leads here are not as active as they’re supposed to be so this may be just one of the few times where we can actually watch them. Thank you very much, Marilina! Your comments always make me happy 🙂

I’m ‘forced’ to watch this piece of crap bcz of work… (doing editing for work)
Horrible, 低B, 低能 drama, with 1-dimensional characters…
好Q乸閑! The main actress is ugly and shallow, the plot and dialogues are cheesy, the acting is exaggerated. Horrible, horrible, horrible! very 90-ish kind of acting/plot!
Gimme K-drama anytime, at least, even if the plot sucks, the actors/actresses are eye-candy.

Also, the main actress should go for plastic surgery and orthodontic for her teeth!
I really wonder, no pretty actresses in China? Why her????!

They might not be as beautiful or as stunning as other actresses out there but I do believe that they have their own charm 🙂

Actually he is never desperate to act in any thing. You might say that I’m biased but as a Jerry Yan fan, I’m aware that if he could not act in years or so, he definitely would. He always chooses his projects carefully so it’s sad that he comes off desperate for you for choosing this project. But I know that we’re entitled to our opinions so we very much welcome all of them! 🙂

what work are you talking about it? is it for subtitling? still on a drama hiatus so I won’t have time to watch this anytime soon. I have to say that I was a little disappointed when I watched the lead actress in action as well. They could’ve chosen a better one lol but as if we could do anything haha!

Different strokes for different folks! I don’t watch Kdramas so I don’t dare compare 🙂 but thank you very much for your comments!

Hello, co-Jerry Yan fan! Everything that you said is true. It just sucks that he has not been making any and he also does not have plans of doing so due to his recent injury 😦

Yeah, knee or leg when he was playing basketball for leisure 😦 that’s why he said that he’s postponing his upcoming projects indefinitely. Yes, we should pray! No problem and thank you too for dropping by!

Loving Never Forgetting was a very nice drama but they spoiled it all when they go and dubbed Jerry’s voice and this drama his voice was also dubbed. I wonder why they go all the way to dub his voice as he can speaks mandarin very well. It just spoil the whole drama when they dub his voice.

I totally get you! I hated watching C-dramas before because of their voice dubbing but I just moved on because I know that there’s nothing I can do about it haha! These are the reasons for dubbing: 1.) C-dramas shoot outside a lot and getting equipment that blocks out the noise outside (to hear the actors’ lines) is expensive. 2.) Speaking of expensive, an actor like Jerry is expensive. So if they need him to record his lines again, it’ll cost more so they hire voice dubbers instead.3.) China is a gigantic country with people speaking in different dialects. They hire experienced voice dubbers who can speak the language very well without the production team worrying that the people might not understand their accent (actors have different accents in speaking Mandarin and especially a Taiwanese actor like Jerry)

Hope this was clear to you! Don’t let the dubbing turn you off as there are nice C-dramas waiting to be appreciated too 🙂 thanks for dropping by!

I was quite annoyed with this drama because Jerry Yan’s voice is dubbed. I would prefer if they didn’t dub it as I want to hear his voice. Just a pity that China dramas does this and this isn’t his first China drama where it’s been dubbed.
Really love anything related to Jerry Yan but don’t appreciate the dubbing

Glad to see you here too! Unfortunately, the drama doesn’t have English subs but if you’re okay without them, you can just watch all the episodes on YouTube 🙂
