LAST RECAP POST OF “MY BEST EX-BOYFRIEND” EVER?! Wow, time surely does fly fast! Before anything else, I just want to thank all of you for patiently reading (and waiting!) my recaps and random thoughts. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have continued writing these recaps at all. I actually never intended to write one at first since I had no experience in writing one before and because I have also been very busy. But look where we are now, I’ve literally dropped anything else to watch and write about this drama all the way to its overwhelming number (42!!) of episodes!

Special acknowledgement to Viki for subbing this drama as fast as lightning! I seriously thought that Jerry Yan fans like me would have to wait for months or so before this gets subbed but wow, they managed to finish it even earlier than China’s release. So thank you so much, Viki!

Thank you to the production team of “My Best Ex-Boyfriend” especially the cast and crew for making fans like me happy! I know that they may never get to see this but I still want to thank them for giving us a very enjoyable drama to watch.

EPISODE 41

Fangsi proudly presents his male model for Si Tang! I just love Da Luo haha!

Tang seems to be busy answering his beloved fiancee’s messages instead of listening to Uncle Xue’s business proposal.

Trouble seems to attack Fangsi’s new brand now that NSH has released its new collection with all of her designs when she still had Fancy.

Fangsi just acted calm and isolated herself in her office in order to recreate her sketches because they’re all similar in style with NSH’s latest designs. Tang told her that of course it’s similar because it was just done by one person.

This is why I LOVE LI TANG! HAHAHA.

Fangsi told Tang that she has to start from scratch or she would be called a copycat. She also told him that he need not bother with the drawings anymore because he has many other things to worry about.

Fangsi told Tang that she would have to isolate herself in order to start with the new sketches. Tang just made her promise to always answer his calls, not be irritated that he’d go to her house for dinner, and of course, not to look at any other guys 😉 why else would she if she already has you?? because I totally wouldn’t too if I were Fangsi ❤

Fangsi’s finding inspiration for her new designs using the three most important things to her: family, friends, and love.

Xiangnan invited Fangsi to the press conference of her newest collection as NSH’s president.

We all know that Xiangnan’s invite did not have any good intentions but Fangsi didn’t care because she really wanted to go. Her Fancy designs were like her children and she would want to see them graduate of course.

The people in the factory hate that Tang has been busy promoting NSH with Xiangnan and that it was also being funded by LS Jewellery. While Fangsi and her workers are stuck with using flyers to promote Si Tang. Tang even said, are we promoting a new restaurant? HAHA.

Xiao Nai has been badmouthing Tang because she told Fangsi that she should be careful since Tang and Xiangnan shared a past.

but it doesn’t worry Fangsi because she trusts Tang very much 😀

One aspect of Tang and Fangsi’s love for each other that I LOVE: they believe in each other very much!

This is going to be exciting!

I love how Fangsi looked like when she was seeing her designs come to life. Though it was also a bittersweet moment since no one else knew that they were hers except the leads.

All of your plans have already backfired on you, Xiangnan! She got karma and she definitely tainted her own reputation while unconsciously setting the stage for Fangsi.

Our Prince Charmings have connived against Xiangnan by asking for help from James and in turn helped the same person that they love who is Fangsi.

REALLY BRILLIANT PLAN, LI TANG!

Tang didn’t care if he didn’t know who James is, all that matters is that there’s a reason why he has always been Fangsi’s idol. Tang’s always willing to take risks and he knows that this plan will be able to help Fangsi.

Tang didn’t respond to his handshake and said, “do you think I look happy working with you?” Oh Tang haha! So Haoran apologized to him and his father for what he did when he helped Xiangnan.

Well, Fu Fangsi’s not as despicable as you are, Cheng Xiangnan!

Is this the end of the XiangRan ship?

Not sure if I pity her or not… but after all the things that she has done, she’s still the one who got hurt!

Haoran told Benjamin that Tang has matured and changed for the better because of Fangsi.

EPISODE 42

And because Haoran said in the previous episode that he’s already sick of this industry, he wants to resign already.

Tang’s talking to his father on the web that there’s no way for him to run away because he’s been studying the art of jewellery very seriously.

Fangsi feels guilty about Haoran resigning. She thinks that both Haoran and Tang have done everything for her to fulfill her dream while Haoran’s giving up and even lost interest in the industry that he was always passionate about.

Tang and his very comforting words as usual haha!

While watching this, it made me so curious what Xiangnan’s ending would be like given that all she ever did was to envy Fangsi and do something evil towards her.

Xiangnan has raised the white flag and let go of Rosy Clouds because how could she not when her reputation was already badly tainted.

Ouch! Tang’s definitely not the best ex-boyfriend for you, Xiangnan!

I’m one happy and proud Fangsi fangirl!

Fangsi and Tang walked the runway together to end the show. She said thank you to everyone especially to that one friend who wasn’t there (but he was actually there). Haoran’s actually the best kind of friend that you can’t help but wish to have 🙂

“Don’t worry, I didn’t do anything to your dress” -Xiangnan. LOL I love it when they refer back to what they did in the past haha!

Xiangnan believes that Fangsi is just like her who is also dependent on men to get wherever she is right now. Fangsi told her it was her talent and hard work too which placed to wherever she is right now.

She also told them that she has friends aside from Tang and Haoran who helped her because she never left them. She told Xiangnan that all she cares about is money that’s why no one could stay loyal to her.

This is why I just love Fangsi even until the end of this drama!

Xiangnan asked Haoran if all this time he was willing to harm her or help her. He said that it was neither and told her the statement above. Accurate!

Can’t believe this came from Amy’s mouth! This girl has actually matured wow! I guess the XiangRan ship is not going to sail anymore.

Tang and Fangsi ditched the celebration after the successful fashion show but these two are still going to continue to celebrate!

I can never get enough of these two!

My question ever since my first ever post on this drama has been answered! Yes, Tang. You definitely are! 😉 ❤

Fangsi panicked that they didn’t have their household registration books! It turns out that Fangsi’s momma brought it for them since Tang already left it in the Fu’s residence ever since his father returned his. Haha!

The gang: Da Luo, Xiao Nai, Benjamin, Julia, and Jiaxin also came to celebrate the marriage of our OTP yay!

The photographer asked them if they’re sure that they’re all going to have a photo together, and Da Luo said, of course! Way too cute!

This OTP wished the other OTP a hundred years of happiness! And Xiao Nai was so cute for saying that she’s happy that she won’t be a spy anymore lol!

Julia said it should be thrown to her but Jiaxin said that it should be for her because she has a boyfriend while Julia doesn’t haha! Sorry girls, Benjamin called dibs first because he wants Fangsi to throw it to Xiao Nai 😉

My thoughts in a nutshell:

• Some people just get what they deserve. All the hard work and effort that Xiangnan put into taking revenge just backfired on her.
• Isn’t the ending just the cutest?!! I felt that this drama was really well-written because if it wasn’t, I really think that they would’ve done something ridiculous to make Haoran and Xiangnan end up together. Good news is, they didn’t and I’m highly praising the writers for that 😉
• Haoran still remained to be a hao ren and this is why people’s second male lead syndrome can never be cured as long as writers create such too-good-to-be-true characters haha!
• I was looking forward to seeing Fangsi in her own wedding dress design, or even just a sketch of it but okay, I’m still contented with the ending that they gave me.
• Li Tang is the BEST EX-BOYFRIEND! Of course this wasn’t really hard to guess, right?
• I don’t think I’ll be recapping any drama anytime soon because nothing piques my interest and I also have to recover from my sleepless nights just because of watching and writing about this drama haha! See you in Jerry Yan’s next project, I guess? 😀 we’ll have to wait for a long time as usual </3 but it was really fun meeting people through the comments and knowing their opinions as well. Zai jian! 🙂
