Go Fighting Musings: Lay Zhang Yixing, from a lamb to a fox

6

By now, everyone should know I love Go Fighting! And while recapping is too tedious to do, I love watching and discussing the Go Fighting cast. (In fact, I’m now watching To Be A Better Man, starring Sun Honglei & Zhang Yixing but that’s another story for another day.) Today, we’ll be talking about our favourite little lamb turned fox, Exo’s Lay Zhang Yixing.

[Drama Thoughts] Back In Time 匆匆那年: First-Ever ‘Second Lead Syndrome’ + Interpretation of Main Loveline

Back In Time 1 Full Crew

I chanced upon Fleet of Time, the movie version of Back In Time. After watching for 20 minutes, I condemned it and decided the drama version was much better. This brought me to rewatch Back In Time and the feels overwhelmed me. While this drama might not have made it onto the list of my favourite dramas in terms of plot because the storyline is pretty overused and naggy (especially towards the back), I must admit that this is a beautiful drama with many hidden gems. This drama has a lot of noteworthy quotes. I still have them saved on a note in my laptop even though it’s been a year since I watched it – I will share them next time round!

Back In Time_Qiao Ran and Fang Hui 2

More importantly, Back In Time was the first (and practically only) drama where I had a real problem of second-lead syndrome. Throughout the entire drama, I felt that the male lead was undeserving of the female lead. I have met my fair share of ‘perfect second leads’ but Qiao Ran from Back In Time was the only one that kept me firmly on his ship the entire drama without ever rooting for the male lead. The most amazing thing about this drama is that despite the fact that I *almost* despise the male lead, I can easily understand why the female lead chose him and would continuously disappoint my poor Qiao Ran.

Movie Monday: Happy Valentine’s Day!

My previous Movie Monday with an action theme didn’t really get a lot of feedback compared to my first one which dealt with first love. I’m going to assume that this post will get more feedbacks because of one thing: it’s all about ROMANCE!

Love really does make the world go round as proven by these five films which had romance as its central theme. Some were a hit and miss while some were definitely not to be missed.

Movie Monday: Lights, Camera, ACTION! (Part 1)

Sorry it took me forever before posting another Movie Monday! It’s all piling up now as I’ve been watching a lot of movies recently. As the title states, I’ll be reviewing 5 movies which fall under the Action genre. It’s also part 1 out of an uncertain number because only time can tell how many action films I’d be watching throughout the years haha!

Trust me, I’m no action fan because I’m all for romance, comedy, melodrama, etc. and basically not action at all but I managed to enjoy these titles. After all, what is life without any action? 😉

Comparing Taiwan’s Most Successful Films: “You are the Apple of My Eye” vs. “Our Times”

Hello 2016! Hello readers! I’m here today to give you a comparative analysis on Taiwan’s all-time smash-hit films from 2011 and last year. Having rewatched both films recently, I decided to write a post about these successful films in detail and also my theories on why they turned out to be everyone’s favorites.

As much as I love having a lot of readers, I do recommend that you read this only when you have seen both films. If not, then I hope this post will make you want to watch them (or at least one) and enjoy as much as I did.

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 2)

I’m back to give you the 2nd part (and last!) 2015 Drama Round-Up! If you missed part 1 then I suggest you read it here for other drama reviews 😀

Still the same disclaimer:  These are brief (not really brief for some lol) reviews of all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested.

I have divided it into parts just like the last time: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

Are we ready? 😀

Year-End Special: 2015 Drama Round-Up (Part 1)

I’ve been looking forward to writing this ever since I got the idea in my head. In this post, I’ll be writing brief reviews about all the dramas that I watched this year. So this doesn’t necessarily mean that the dramas were all made in 2015 as the title of this post may have suggested. This is part 1 out of 2 2015 Drama Round-ups that I’ll be writing.

My year in dramas is pretty colorful which I need to highlight: 1.) I watched a lot of C-dramas more than I intended to 2.) It was my first time to watch a drama while it’s currently airing 3.) I went beyond my habit of watching C/TW dramas by watching J-dramas (yay!) 4.) It also concerns going beyond my habit: watched a period/wuxia drama for the first time! 5.) I was able to watch some dramas which have been collecting dust in my never-ending plan-to-watch list already haha! and most importantly, 6.) I started blogging about dramas!

I’ll be dividing it into parts: STORY IN A NUTSHELL (without spoilers, I promise!), POSITIVE (+) & NEGATIVE (-) things about it, and my OVERALL RATING.

So are we ready? 😀
