Let’s take a break from my “My Best Ex-Boyfriend” episode recaps first and discuss some real-life news about our beloved cast members! This is like a special edition of my favorite Weibo round-up because all of the bits here about the actors and actresses are just from Weibo 😉
I’m totally on board this ship if ever there’s a chance that it’ll actually come true!
This is obviously a typical scenario in dramaland led by delusional fans (I’m one of them!). Fans become so invested in a pairing so they make an item out of it. It may be annoying for some because why would you interfere in an actor/actress’ private life?! But I guess that’s just how it goes in the world of entertainment and fandoms.
“My Best Ex-Boyfriend” has broken the 500 million record of viewers in one night!!! It even beat the usually top-rating dramas like “The Journey of Flower” top-billed by Zhao Liying and Wallace Huo, “Diamond Lovers” with Rain and Tiffany Tang, and “Whirlwind Girl” with Yang Yang and Chen Xiang. And because of that…
Maggie Jiang (as Fangsi) decided to post a picture of her and Jerry Yan (as Tang) to celebrate their half a billion success! As an avid watcher and recapper of this drama + Jerry Yan fan, their success has also made me so proud!
This is why people also thought that Maggie has moved on pretty quickly after breaking things off with his famous ex-boyfriend actor Hu Ge. I actually feel bad for her because I feel like she didn’t have any ill intentions on posting the photo with Jerry because it was just obviously a form of fan service. Seeing her post actually made me so happy because ever since they started filming a drama, I have always wanted her to share a photo with Jerry. Wish granted yay!
There are only two reasons for Jerry Yan going online on Weibo:
1.) Indirectly tell fans that he’s still pretty much active in the entertainment industry by telling them to support his latest project.
2.) Expression of his gratitude to all of the fans who keep supporting him.
Because of the breaking news of half a billion, of course our man just had to go online! Maggie replied to his Weibo by telling him that they should post another picture if they hit the one billion mark (*crossing my fingers*). She also called him “dead fat” and I’m guessing that they were still acting as Fangsi and Tang. How adorable! Fans even commented that they should post a kissing photo if they hit the one billion mark LOL. Sounds ridiculous but I’m definitely game with that too haha!

“Why do people always hurt me? People are also very concerned with image”. With Jerry/Tang always torturing her in the drama, and Ron/Haoran dropping her into a fountain, it sucks to be Maggie/Fangsi sometimes too haha!

Ending this post with a Hello Kitty parallel of Maggie and Jerry that I made a few months ago that the “My Best Ex-Boyfriend” Weibo account reposted. Of course I fangirled so hard because both Maggie and Jerry are following the account as well haha! As of now, we don’t have enough evidence to say that our beloved Tang and Fangsi’s relationship is actually happening in real life but I wouldn’t mind if it does 😉 What can you say about this possible pairing? Maggie’s working on a historical/martial arts movie if I’m not mistaken and one of his co-stars is a famous Taiwanese actor, Eddie Peng. Her drama with her ex-boyfriend, Hu Ge, called Go Goal Fighting will also be airing soon. As for Jerry, we don’t know anything about his upcoming projects though I’m assuming that it’ll already be next year since he works on 1-2 (even none) projects in a single year. Will update you if ever I get news about them 😀

Ohh I’m Filipino as well ,but im not staying in the phil. I like watching korean,taiwanese and chinese.i dont know why..i really like their comedy drama romance ,im so happy when i watching their dramas.thanks to you.now i can share my feelings with these KTC dramas.

My best ex boyfriend is so beautiful. I like jerry so much! Jerry and maggie are perfectly matched. Hope they are both single and hope they developed special feeling with each other.

Napuna ko kung gumawa c jerry ay once a year lang like never forgetting. That was last year parang ganito ring panahon. I know marami siyang offers. Bakit kaya? Everytime n matapos ang tv series nya d ko maiwasang malungkot kc kelan q kaya uli xa mapapanood. Last year his never forgetting was aired in channel 2. And it makes me happy during that time. Sana samantalahin nya ang panahon. Strikes while the iron is hot di ba? Kaya nga pinapanood q xa sa you tube kahit walang translation kahit d q maintindihan hahaha. Buti ngaun my viki.com kaya nalaman q n tru english translation yung my x bf.

He wants to give all his focus in every project that he agrees with but he’s aware that he only gets to produce so little compared to his contemporaries. And yes, nanonood rin ako kahit walang translation haha! but now thank God for Viki! Salamat sa sagot mo Ms. Dramarian. Mas mahirap ang humanga sa tiga ibang bansa kc wala kang balita sa kanila. Siempre their privacy is so impt for them. Like jerry, very obvious he is a type of a person na gusto ay very private ang personal nyang buhay. Nang pumunta xa ng phils ay 24 lang yata xa or 26. That was 2003 if ever my memory serves me right. D q xa nakita ng personal pero alam ko n guwapo xa in person coz everyone who saw him in person told that. And up to now he still charming. He used to be skinnier (2009-2011) when he had gastritis so now it’s much better that he gained some weight back 🙂 No need to thank me! It’s okay, I don’t mind! You can ask anything 🙂 1.) As far as I know, it’s okay now kaya back to normal weight na siya actually. 2.) I’m not sure if it’s his but so far, yung mga nakikita ko kasing car niya ay parang mga van since kasama niya buong crew niya kapag umaalis (e.g. Japan fan meetings). 3.) He only studied English when he had to film for “Lupin III”since the film mostly used English and Japanese as the main languages. I don’t think he’s continuing studying it though given that his main focus of his career now is in Mainland China and he really doesn’t need English for that. Hope I was able to answer your questions 😀

Salamat marian! Na imsg ko nga sa mga friend ko yung my best x bf ay panoorin nila. Noong nasa pinas cla ay fanatic jerry cla. Ung isa nasa states n. Ung isa sa qatar d q alam kung correct spelling haha. Marian r u familiar sa fb page ni jerry sa mga fans? Ang mga naglike at comments ay from diff parts of the world. At ang daming pilipino. Napuna ko iisa gusto nila ang malaman ang nxt project nya at makabalita tungkol sa knya. Kc iba iba nga ang lugar unlike sa pinas dun lang ang artista. C jerry international. So hirap makabalita. As much as I want to give updates, our Jerry doesn’t seem to give us any at all 😦 except that his recent fan meeting in Japan will be showing this October 17 in DATV in Japan. That channel actually loves him because all of his dramas are always being shown in that Japanese channel haha!

His previous Japan fan meetings have actually been uploaded though there were no subtitles. I still watched it even if I barely understand Nihonggo haha! I’m pretty sure that the recent one would be uploaded too but probably still w/o subtitles 😦

That’s really weird 😦 I’m so sorry! Anyway, there are no latest news of him anyway except that his recent Japan fan meeting will be broadcasting in a Japanese channel this October 🙂 I actually can’t imagine who he’s going to get married to! It’s going to be very heart-breaking but all we have to do is to be happy for him as mature fans 😀 Yup, I live here in the Philippines! I’m just a Taiwanese wannabe actually because I’m so in love with that country haha! His nose is probably one of his best characteristics but I know he’s still pure Taiwanese. Normally Asians aren’t known to have sharp noses but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the person has other mixed race in their blood. I know a lot of people who are pure Filipino but have sharp noses. It’s probably the same case with Jerry 😀

Yup, pumupunta po ako dyan kasi dyan rin po nakatira tita namin 🙂 yup, Mandarin! I speak a little and understand little as well all because of the dramas and movies that I’ve been watching haha! Yup, and Jerry super loves Japan as well so it’s a two-sided love for them 😀 if I’m not mistaken, the girl in that video actually told the media that she wasn’t dating him. They’re only friends and she actually has a boyfriend already. Jerry dated a Japanese model named Shoko earlier last year but it was just a brief romance. Di ko rin gusto si Lin Chi Ling pero nung napanood ko yung isang movie niya, nagets ko na bakit patay na patay sa kanya si Jerry actually. And she’s Taiwan’s #1 model plus she’s really well-loved 🙂 kahit nung pumunta ako ng HK, makikita mo everywhere mukha niya haha!

Hi, am curious if Jerry has a gf. I was assuming he’s still dating Shoko. I saw some interviews of LC and i could say she was HOT until 2013 but not anymore. She aged. I think Jerry still loves her and vice versa but the problem is Jerry’s immaturity. Right now i want Jerry to date Maggie lol (am crazy)…Dissapointed that no news about her and Jerry lately. As of now, we have no news of his dating life so maybe he’s not dating anyone at the moment. I still think that she looks good actually especially for someone who’s in their early 40’s already 🙂 I want Maggie and Jerry to be together too now that they’re both single!! 😀 I’ll see if I can ask help about that since I’m still not very confident with my translating skills but I hope I can do it once I’m not so busy anymore 🙂

Napanood q ung interview ni yeda chen at jerry kahit k barbie. D ganun ang kilos ni jerry sa partner nya. Ni hindi nya halos tinitingnan c yeda at barbie. Sayang nga lang at walang eng sub ang interview nila. Sabi mo jerry is looking for early twenties. Jerry is 38 while lin chi ling is on her early fortys. Oh no sayang naman c jerry. He deserved more younger and more beautiful wife. D ba more than 10 yrs n break up nila. At pilit lang pagyakap nya dun sa babae ng ma i guest xa. Wag naman sana. Sayang n sayang ang kapogihan nya. Aside from Maggie, I think Jerry was close to Barbie and Ella too based on the interviews that I have watched before 😀 may I ask what guesting is this? because as far as I know, Jerry and LCL only appeared once together and it was in an awards night in 2006 then I don’t remember them appearing together anywhere else 😮 but yes, sana nga sila ni Maggie nalang! Natutuwa ako na may kasama ako na gusto si Maggie for Jerry since ang dami ko ng nabasa na feel nila na wala silang chemistry but they have so much of it for me actually ❤

Miss marian, i have two questions: 1) is marjorie simpson who have posts on you tube, and you are only one person? 2) aside from viki is there any other link that i can watch “my splendid life” w/ english sub? I had watched that series last march but it has no english sub. From epi 1-38. I was disappointed, when i searched on viki coz the episodes is there, but when i play it. Not sure if they have it but a lot of dramas that can’t be found anywhere can be found on dramago.com. Hope I was able to help! 🙂

At maganda legs ni maggie, c lcl ay d maganda hubog ng legs. Ung pagiging mahilig magreject ni jerry ng project, cguro nadala xa kc baka may project xa before n d maganda. Kaya quality n hanap nya instead n quantity. Nung visit nya s phils nung 2003 n interview c jerry ni kris. 26 lang c jerry nun. N i promote ni jerry ang magic kitchen. So nood kmi ng mga friends ko sa mega mall. At that time i was 48 yr old gnun din halos dlawa ko ksama. Now i turned 60 last aug.24 alam mo marian ang pangit ng pelikulang yon. hello there! it’s actually my first time to encounter that term. How do those fans use it in a sentence? The closest thing that I could think of when I think of Jerry fans + the letter M is Jerry and Milkyway which is the name of his official fan club in Japan 😄 sorry if I wasn’t able to help but I hope you can update me with that and that your debate with your friend has been settled. It’s good you always make a reply. I make a comment posted by your friend kate, abt vic marriage recently. But he or she never response hehehe. So jerry and ken was left behind. Ken, as far as i know have a girlfriend while jerry is a very handsome man but no girlfriend hahaha. You know marian, if i only have the power, i will make maggie and jerry fall in love with each other hahaha coz for me, they are very much perfect. Thanks marian! Kumusta ka na? She’s usually busy so blogging here is just her way of escaping from her studies haha! Same here! I really want Maggie and Jerry to end up together in real life but I don’t think they’re in contact anymore (but we will never know actually). Umalis na po ako, leisure trip lang po for the second time around haha! Sana po makabalik ako soon and magawa ko po yang favor niyo haha!

Di po yun totoo. Kasi di po ganun sa LCL at mabait po talaga siya kaya well-loved siya sa Taiwan hanggang ngayon. Matagal na po yung rumor kay Jerry na gay siya and aware siya na napaiyak siya in one of his interviews regarding it pero baka siguro biased lang ako but I don’t think he’s gay at all haha!

this I’m not aware of, when did he say these statement? it’s soo often that Jerry admits having “a special, special friend”.. glad that he found another inspiration, hopefully the girl is decent as I don’t want our man to commit to yet another complications.. *crossfingers* care to give a brief description/background of the “girl” please? I was planning to blog about it but other commitments won’t allow me to do so 😦 maybe I’ll get to post about it once it has been super confirmed 😀 as a Taiwanese entertainment fan, it’s actually my first time to have heard of her name. So I’m assuming that she’s fairly new in the industry, she’s a 32 year-old Taiwanese actress named Zhang Xien. People have already been posting on her Facebook their blessings for her and Jerry. *cries a river* HAHA!

Natutuwa aq na nagmove on n xa and at the same time he is physically fit na bec of being triathlete and still playing basketball. Happy aq sa news mo na he is dating now. At least d na xa naglilihim hehehe. Gusto ko talaga c maggie jiang for him. But if there is no chance…. im happy na rin if that girl is ok. Coz handsome jerry deserve all the best in life!

I am so excited for Jerry and Seanna. She’s prettier than Maggie. According to news the speculation of their romance started since March 2014. Just hoping Seanna didn’t overlap Jerry and her boyfriend. Jerry said that when he was down in his career, Seanna Chang was always by his side, trying her best to solve his worries does it mean they know each other when Jerry was sick? when he was out of the limelight?….Jerry deserves to be happy.

We completely have opposite reactions and feelings towards this issue but I totally respect that. One reason why she’s not getting my vote is because she dated Jerry’s friend aka I’m all for respecting the bro/girl code! haha! but as if my opinion would matter since I’m just one in millions of his fans who shouldn’t have a say in his life anyway lol

Hi Marian, about that girl, I don’t think I like her for our jerry. And what about this other guy? AUniversity professor na boyfriend din nya. I saw the photos of them together. May isang photo nga doon na nakapatong ung right leg ng girl sa thigh ng guy na parang minamassage ang leg ng girl. She was going out with jerry yan even though she was still together with jerry’s friend. Anong tingin mo sa kanya? Alam mo punta ka sa you tube sa GQ Taiwan kita mo pictures nya doon para cyang boldstar. Hindi ba may movies cya na maliit lang ang mga role nya? Noon lumabas ang story na they’re dating itong taiwanese media may nahalungkat na naman. Ung movie nya na may maselang scenes kasama ng isang guy inalabas sa you tube. Naku sana mapanood mo mateturn off ka. I’ll pray na hindi cya makatuluyan ni jerry.

I don’t know much about her except the fact that she used to date Jerry’s friend. She also gets compared to Lin Chiling a lot because they’re from the same agency and because it’s inevitable now that she’s dating Jerry. I’m not even a fan of LCL but I like her more than Seanna haha! I don’t think I’m willing to watch videos about her but maybe someday I will (IF she’s still dating Jerry by that time). Hmmm not sure about her small movie roles but I know she had small drama roles. Apparently she’s being groomed to be the next Annie Chen (famous idol drama Taiwanese female lead who’s also a model). Jerry sounded happy with her so all we have to do is to be happy for him even if it’s hard 🙂 I still want him to end up with either Maggie Jiang or Liu Wen, just my two cents haha! Nakita ko yung picture ni seanna. Too sexy kc picture nya yun sa FHM. At saka xa pala yung kasama ni jerry noon, yung na ipost sa you tube na sumakay c jerry ng taxi at maya lang dumating yang girl na yan sakay rin ng taxi. Halatang may relasyon cla kc c seanna kumukuha sa wallet ng pambayad, kilos talaga na may relasyon. Then pumsok c jerry dun sa party world yata yung place and seanna followed. Sabi vdeoke raw yun at iabot n cla ng madaling araw. And they left the place riding in only one taxi. At ng sumunod na araw this girl broke up with her bf. I hope seanna will be faithful to jerry, coz jerry is a very good man and he deserved to be love tru and tru. He deserve to be happy! Ang daming magkakagusto k jerry sayang naman kung d matino yang babae.

Chi-ling and seanna cn are desame. Both of them are not good for jerry. Jerry deserved a good woman, because he is a very sincere and good person. I hope it’s maggie jiang. Hope jerry will turn his head and look how beautiful maggie jiang is!

I’m so sick of the never-ending updates on Chiling and Jerry in his unofficial Facebook fan pages zzz how come they never linked him with Maggie?? huhuhu when I was in Taiwan, you could see how they still can’t get over this couple (example: always putting their photos beside each other) lol!

Hi Dramarian, I just love your site because it has a lot of news on Jerry Yan, my favorite actor. Hope you give us more news of him and his upcoming dramas. I watch his dramas repeatedly when there are no new ones available. So, here’s hoping he make more, instead of the 1 or 2 a year. Keep going with your post!!!
